Hi All, Looking for some friendly advice! My 74 Ghia with stock 1600 doesn't want to idle consistently.
She starts quickly but I usually have to feather the gas it keep it running until completely warm. Even then when coming to a stop when I push in the clutch the idle speed drops to the point of stalling. I have become pretty good at heel-toeing the gas & brake to keep her running. After the idle speed drops (if it doesn't stall) it usually comes back up in a few seconds and all is fine until the next stop.
I have adjusted valves, cleaned carb (stock 34 PICT-3), cleaned pilot jet, gapped points and spoke lovingly to her.
Any and all suggestions are much appreciated! Thanks! |

Is the preheat pipe clogged? There have been several posts in the past that have made mention of this problem recently in the last few weeks. _________________ Bondo? Bondo? We don't need no stinking Bondo!
How is it 'NOS' if it has been modified?
