I'm not sure it's definitely L87 Pearl White. What are your opinions? How can I confirm it's colour. Thanks

From your picture, to me it looks like a off white beige color. _________________ Jon65

From what I can tell is that it is right hand drive. Appears to be a shade of white. In person it may be pearl white. Where are you located??? _________________ Volkswagen: We tune what we drive.

It's so hard to tell by just looking at pictures, but if you told me it was L87 I would believe you. Cameras and computer monitors can mess with colors a bit. If it's not an exact match, it sure is close from what I see. Great looking Bug BTW!

Looks like it could be pearl white, maybe not an exact match but close. Its too light too be panama beige. _________________ Formerly known in the forums as "OVALTEEN"

Thanks! |

| Pearl White, like a lot of VW colors from that era, is one that looks different in different lighting/settings. It's supposed to have a bit of a greenish tint to it that your example doesn't quite have. I know my Pearl White 62 isn't quite a match either in that same area - both times I've painted it the color was mixed up by the painter and not done exactly to code. So when I bought a new decklid from someone who said he could paint it PW before I picked it up, I found that it didn't quite match. It's close but not quite, but I think it's probably about the right color. |

I have a 65 thats the o.g. L87 on the interior. From your pictures your car looks right, but the computer does tend to mess with colors. I can tell you that mine looks like a slight off white/cream color if that helps. Is there a paint code sticker in your spare tire well? _________________ - Marc M.

I live in the UK, in Hampshire. If there are any 60s pearl white VWs in my part of the world please speak up. It would be great to compare in person.
I guess the paint job on my bug could be close, like you said glutamodo it could have been mixed up by the painter and not done exactly to code. My paint doesn't have a greenish tint to it, more a cream tint.
I think this is how it's set up...
Front
2" narrow adjustable beam almost all the way up
lower shocks
125/15
standard smoothies
Back
1 outer (i think)
165/15
standard smoothies |

looks like peal white to me... it is one of those colours that can look so different from photo to photo. You can check what colour it originally came out from factory by sending in for a birth certificate. _________________ 1960 Beetle

X2...looks pearl white. Awesome car!! I was debating painting my wheels pearl white with the white walls and wasn't sure what it would look like....now I know. _________________ 1965 Herbie Replica. 1776cc dual Kads.
