throwing another herald for Brothers up. they won't be run for a bit yet but late friday afternoon i ordered a set of the new china casting 40x35.5 heads. the new casting look good. it's the same ones ALOT of head builders are using and i can see why. cooling veins are nice and open unlike alot of the more recent castings from various countries. and maybe it's just in my head but they really look to me like the ports may be a little larger in the castings themselves much like the newer DRD heads. i don't think they are gonna take much working over at all. and all this for $430($410 with single hi revs but i upgraded to duals). and to order late afternoon on friday and get my heads first thing wednesday morning was a refreshing change...ken.... _________________ ITMC

| Ive used a few sets of the china casting with 40x35 (scat prostreet) they have the stock type chamber, not the newer better cb 044 type chamber(witch still needs improving)the chambers Ive seen from drd(I think) look pretty nice, but could use a better "heart spliter" the china scat heads I have used are not demensionaly correct, the head is smaller where the valve cover mounts&machined offset,I dont know if thats going to be a problem long term withbolt on valve covers as there isant much serface contact with them.the holes needed clearing&1 set looked like the aluminum was cooling before the fill was finished & missing part of some fins. but they were pocket ported nicely from scat.at less than $400 a set. |
