|
|
So, today I learned that no local FLAPS carries flare wrenches smaller than 9mm. My brake bleeders (1977 VW Westy, stock brakes as far as I know) uses 7mm, I think, and I have to bleed the brakes. Is there any reason not to buy six new brake bleeders, in a size where I can get the right tool? The old ones can come out with vise grips and get replaced with the new ones, which I can install with the correct tool.

No reason. But, I bet the new ones will be 7mm also, unless you have found otherwise. Is there a Sears or Lowes close by? They will have 7mm. _________________ '70 Ghia Coupe-My Wife's

A 7mm socket or regular wrench works just as well. No need to reinvent the wheel here. _________________ First Trip in the RustyBus:

Now I feel truly dense! Thank you for pointing out the obvious, which I overlooked.

| I have a 7mm box end wrench that has been slightly bent on the end from being used to loosen things it was never intend to loosen. Makes an ideal tool for accessing the bleeders with that odd angle on the end though. |
