More Wiring Help

I checked out sideofsauerkraut post on pretty much the same issues. I have a mass of wiring that is not hooked up at the dash. I have been working on vintage motorcycles and scooters for a few decades now and wiring for those things are easy, but I'm very overwhelmed on my van. I have a 1973 Van and I notice there are a few wiring schematics for my year. Is there much a difference between them and if so, what are they? Also, is there much difference between the 72 and 73 wiring? I'm having a hard time getting my head to comprehend the wiring schematic for the 73 in the Bentley book, and have a better understanding of the other type of layout from the 72.
I unfortunately have another issue of a section of the harness in the engine compartment being cut out and just sitting there, but I think I'll save that for later.
