My mechanic says that the pressure is low in cylinder #2 on my 74 Ghia. What are the usual causes for this and the typical repair options?

thanx

i would start with torquing the heads and doing a valve adjustment. could be a whole range of things, head loose, tight valve, burnt valve, carboned up piston rings.

thanx for the info, I have to change the motor mounts and change the carb so that'll be a good time to further check it out. Do you have any recommendations on a brand of carb?

You'll have to give us more information on the size engine you have. If you're staying stock or if you are upgrading. If you are staying stock then you should make every effort to use an original German Solex carb, good used or refurbished.

If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong.
