Great build! You are doing some great fab work and I like how you have the cage tucked in tight against the body. Is the car going to be a 2 or 4 seater and what are your plans for the power plant?

I can't decide on 3 or 4 seats but after seeing your car I might go with a bench in the back and plan on running an ecotek. The A tubes are so tight I can open the wind wing and crank the windows with the door closed.

Finely got a plan on the upper mounts. I still have one side to finish and I might add a horizontal tube or a radius bend from the inside boss to the bottom tube.

Well I haven't got as much done as I planned. However I did get a lot of parts ordered for the drivetrain and steering.

2.4 LE5 from an 2011 Equinox with 19,000 miles the adapter plate has been on back order for a month and I still don't have an eta.

With the Front end assembled it 73 inches wide 3 inches wider than the for my truck. But now I want 5x5 rear arms so it will match.

The car is looking awesome! Keep up the good work and the up dates. What size tire and what wheel width are you using?

I went with 30x9.5x15 on 4" wheels up front and 31x10.5x15 on 7" wheels on the back I might want to change to 33 but I like a smaller tire so I can get them spinning in the corners essay.

I haven't done much except some basic assembly I also received the adapter plat and got the engine mounted. The LE5 I got is not a LE5 it a LAF a direct injected 2.4 and the computers are more money but ill get 10 HP more! I did get it setting on all four its only been three and a half years since its held its own weight

Wow what a great looking toy! I am building a rail for some light racing and I have what is most likely a stupid question. The front shocks look like they are tilted forward. Why is this. I ask because all the other set ups I have seen have the shocks laid back a little. And just so no one thinks I am ripping on the build.... I am not. Just looking for info to make sure I make the right design on my rail. Oh and keep up the great work and take as many pics as possible even if they are out of focus......LOL cause for me the only way I can learn is to steel others great ideas.... Hahahaha

Thanks covdubguy. The front shocks are tilted foreword jus slightly. The reason for this is mostly looks but the ideal set up so I'm told is that when your trailing arms front or rear are at bump (fully compressed) your shocks should be 90° to the arms.
This is hard to achieve on the front because the shock will hit the beam when the arms are at the bottom of the cycle, if you mount the shock on the top arm the problem is gone this is how many class 5 cars are built. Have fun with your build.

Thanks for the explanation I will make sure to use that for the front beam build on my rail... And keep up the great work...
