Hi! I have a -56 stock body and a -68 IRS floorpan. They are not at the same place at the moment, so I cannot take measurements - but has anyone fit 225-50-15 at the rear?
Thoughts?

I know this doesn't answer your question specifically, but will throw it out there. I have 225/50/15 on widened stock wheels in the rear. Axles are 67 swing, and they 'just' tuck inside the fender. Not sure how the IRS wheel mounting surface compares to the 67 swing axle, also consider that the IRS wheel will be traveling straight up and down, the swing axle tucks in a bit. HTH, Seth

I'm running 295/50/15 10 inch cragars on the rear of my 69. I had to cut the ends of the trailing arms off, use chevy drums, add air shocks, and flared fenders. Look at my post "BAck to the future" for pics.

It can be done if all the wheel's added width is to the inside of the wheel; that way the tire won't hit the fender. There are early 15x7 Fuchs wheels built like this (they're very rare and worth a pretty penny). The later style (and not nearly so expensive) 15x7 Fuchs will work with irs trailing arms that have been narrowed 1". To do this with Porsche pattern wheels the drums will have to be redrilled; I don't think this will work with adapters.

That's what I had in mind. Using all the space there is. No Fuchs knock-offs, but maybe widened steel rims.
