Yea its definitely been sitting for a while..my plan is too strip it down and repaint it. Redo the brakes, front kingpins ,new electrical, see if the trans is good and throw a motor in it. It came with the front and rear bumper pieces that I will eventually put on, along with some other extra parts. _________________ 1969 Empi Imp #1325

I've rebuilt a worse looking sandrail..Its mostly surface rust. I paid $400..not exactly sweet, but I don't consider it too bad either. _________________ 1969 Empi Imp #1325

Looks like T-3 rear brakes by the drum laying in the floor.
Good as it gets for drums............
Lots of potential there with that buggy. _________________ Gary

Thanks Gary for the info. They are 10.5". Do you know what year Type 3 would be safe to use to buy some new shoes, spring kits, and wheel cylinders?

Type 3, 1966 and up thru 1973, use the same rear brake shoes. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

Today I pretty much stripped it down to the frame. The bolts all came out not too bad. I only broke one. Its almost ready for a blasting.

Thanks Jdawg, I did a little more stripping today. I called a few places to blast this thing but they were kinda pricy and they couldn't take it in right away..so I started to use sanding discs on the grinder. Its actually quicker than my sandblaster since my compressor can't keep up that well. I am going to use the discs for as much as possible then I will blast all the hard to reach spots.
