|
|
I'm splitting this section from
Porsche 356/911/912/914
into
Porsche 356
and
Porsche 911/912/914
This section will be 356s only now.
I am in the process of moving all 911/912/914 Forum posts to the new section but if you see any any threads that are not 356, please hit on it and I will move it over.
Thank you to the people who suggested this change as well as any help you can provide.
Also... The Porsche 356 Vehicle and Parts classifieds are split now.
All ads I found there are moved but please hit there as well if you see anything in the wrong section(s).

Ok, we have moved a ton of threads out of here into the new non-356 section and hopefully found most of them.
Terms I searched on to move threads:
911 and 911*
912 and 912* (to catch 912E for example)
914 and 914*
Targa
901 (transmission stuff, assuming it wasn't in relation to a 356 install)
If you see anything else, please Report it.
If you have any suggestions for other terms for me to search on, let me know. _________________ How to Post Photos

Nice Move. Another step toward world domination
I listed a 356 part here and on the Registry site. It sold through TheSamba, I didn't get any inquiries through the Registry site and that was before it was closed.
One more thing. To make the site a bit more consistent I think you should break off a 356 section in the gallery also. _________________ Brian O'Kelly

This is done as well.
One warning - there are going to be TONS of non-356 Porsche pics in the 356-specific gallery section now. This is an unfortunate results of hundreds/thousands of non-specific Gallery entries. "My Car" and so on.
I was able to locate and move 10% of the pics though. _________________ How to Post Photos

Holy smokes!! Thank you sir!! I had special 'searches' set up for 356 classifieds but I always missed stuff, this is great!
Time to update the bookmarks
Someone needs to design a '356' Samba shirt now! Like the 'buses' Samba shirt, but have 3 or 4 '356's in a row! _________________ "There is only one sin; disconnection from self." |

Very nice. Thanks for the new forum. Decline of the 356 movement? I think not.... |

Awesome! A registry always has it's place, but a forum where users can participate, learn from each other, freely ask questions and not feel like they are going to be lectured or looked down upon is always a great thing. Most classic cars have their purists and their customizers, thesamba seems to be able to support all types without issue.
I think this is a great move for thesamba, 356 peeps, and maturing VW peeps like myself. Kudos _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery! |

I've been going through the 356 gallery section one picture at a time trying to move things appropriately. I will probably make a few mistakes or miss something so if you see a problem, please hit the report button on the picture. That helps a lot.
Three reminders:
1. Replicas belong in the Kit Car gallery. Please don't post them in 356.
2. The Porsche categories are for air-cooled models only. Water cooled models will be deleted from the Gallery (and the Classifieds)
3. Please put 356 parts/accessories in the Parts category, not Vehicles.
Thank you. _________________ Donate to TheSamba.com

Just in case someone missed it. I think that is the correct and more accurate decision. _________________ Brian O'Kelly

This seller has demonstrated that we might need to have a Porsche Vendor's classified section.
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/search.php?username=sierramadrecollection
Right now with all his ads in the 356 parts classifieds section, it disgusts me as much as eBay.
Another thing I noticed about the 356 parts classifieds is that many users seem to treat it as the "general" Porsche parts section. Perhaps being listed above the 911/914/912 section contributes to this. Moving it below might alleviate this problem. _________________

Will any technical data for 356 show up on samba anytime? Like vin no's, chassis data, color selection, like for vw"s? |
