Why? there hasn't been a slammed fatchicks thread.

There is a lowered 1302s and 1303s super fest but that's Super Beetles there hasn't been a specific late model Beetle Slammed fest or if there has it's lost in the archives.

Thats because Late models aren't fat chicks. Super Beetles are. Big round bulbous front end=fatty. Not windows or lights or four lug rims make it a fatty.

Explain to me why anything 68 and up is a fatty and please don't say because that's how the samba has it defined. I first heard the term fatty over twenty years ago and it was always in reference to super beetles. It wasn't until two years ago that I heard someone call a standard late model a fatty.

it is the correlation between desire and satisfaction. as with other things in life, they may be satisfactory, but not always desireable. kinda like a moped

Just because you hadn't heard it till recently doesn't mean it wasn't always around.

Put a 68 Bug next to an earlier bug or a 68 bay window next to a split window even late Karmann Ghias and Type 3s next to earlier ones and even the blind can see where it comes from.

The small group of people that think it only means Supers are the standard beetle owners who just don't like the fact that fat chick label applies to their cars too.

Funny you mention that. I built the car pictured probably 2 yrs prior to the one Louie (Gambino) now owns came to be, but I also built his car. Mine was built in 05-06 and another local friend wanted to buy mine when I was selling but I got an offer and it went to nj. So Geoff bought another 73 (same color) and I built it to same specs. He ended up selling it to Louie 3 or so yrs ago. Funny how these cars make their rounds.

Mine pictured in above posts from 06-07

Louie/geoffs from 09- present
