If it were sitting in a shelf with a ship to address in Texas they'd probably send it on its way... So I'm at a point where i say fuck it an get the bad feedback or I say fuck it and refund him...

Try calling the East Texas,Pa post office and see if they have it.

On average I get 3 pieces of mail a week that aren't supposed to come to me. This is stuff addressed to different addresses, but it lands in my mail box.

Makes me wonder how much of MY mail is going someplace else.

But the biggest thing that pisses me off is the letter carriers who are too lazy to get out of their little truck and knock on the door. About once a month I walk out to the mailbox and find a slip telling me I have to go to the post office to sign for a package. The pisser? I was HOME! And I can hear the damn mail truck stop at my mail box!

When I went to the post office to complain about this happening over and over, the clerk pulled me aside and quietly told me I didn't want to file a formal complaint because my mail service would just get worse if I did.

Maybe part of the problem is the atrocious spelling displayed by a few of the people who reported problems with shipping. They can't get the package to where it's supposed to go if they can't tell where that is. I use USPS for the most part, print click n ship labels right from home and schedule carrier pickup for the next day. Never had a problem with lost packages or packages going somewhere they shouldn't be. Larger items I generally use FedEx and again, no problems shipping with them. Computer printed labels are a plus and take the guesswork out of terrible penmanship, which believe me I am guilty of.

It's amazing out of all of these posts nobody can spell simple words like "lose" properly. Maybe that's why shipping companies are having trouble getting your packages where they are supposed to go?

Good god.. Can't we have one thread without some idiot crying about spelling?? The last 5 Or so posts I have made to this thread have been via IPhone and it's a pain in the ass to do..And not once reading any of the posts made to this thread have i had to reread or try to figure out what someone was trying to state, due to there bad spelling.. When your reading a post 99.999999% of the time you can and do understand the topic or questions being stated or asked... So why on earth do people complain about spelling? Who gives a shit just read the fuckin postand comment on it if you have usefull information.. It seems like the last year the spelling police have been out and issuing tickes for bad spelling.. Might just be me but I could care les how someone spells in the threads on the interweb..

And for the record my wife handles the shipping dept.. And she has a BA And an MBA at the ripe old age of 25... And she has the typical girl hand writing.. I can assure you that the package label was fine...Now il go back to the shop and try to hide from the spelling police.. Rolling Eyes

Nobody singled you out, it was a simple, general observation. I take pride in being a literate human being so I try to portray myself as such, evidently you don't care and that's fine if you don't mind coming across to the world as a fucking retard. I simply suggested that labeling may have been an issue with several posters here who complained about issues with shippers. A general statement. Please don't take it so personally.

I just don't get the point of razzing people about loose spelling errors.. Alot of people are using smart phone/tablets and they auto correct and a lot of times there wrong.. I just read the post and if I have something worth posting il post simple as that.. If not, on to the next.. I just don't get the whole spelling police thing.. It's ridiculous and it gets old reading over an over again someone cryin about spelling.. I'm sorry i used the word idiot in reference to you.. You didn't deserve that, it was uncalled for.. But there are people on here who think there better than the next because they spend 30 min on each post to make absolute damn sure there punctuation, grammar, spelling is perfect.. Generally they have no good knowledge of the topic to bring and there the first to jump on a guy for using the wrong form of the word "to"... Again I apoligize for calling you an idiot and I jumped the gun on assuming you were one of them..

This is an absolutely legitimate remark, and as he later said he should not be criticized for being literate. I have shipped all over the US with the Post Office, UPS, Federal Express, and Greyhound with no problems at all. The only parcel that ended up in a Paypal dispute was shipped to the Philippines, which I question as some foreign postal systems are corrupt. If I can get two shipments to a British national in Turkey then I must know what I am talking about.

One bit of advice I can offer everyone is to standardize the recipient's address via the USPS website. Just click on the Look up a Zip Code option and enter the street address, city, and the State of the recipient. The website will return the address per postal standards complete with the Plus 4 suffix. I do this on every package I ship as well as copying and pasting the information into a blank document and printing the address using a 10-point font.

Foreign addresses can be a bit tricky, so even with foreign addresses I copy/paste whatever string the buyer uses for his address.

You can say pay pal won't help him if it helps your stress level. Won't change their mind when they side with the buyer. Trust me I'm on your side, just not willing to shot sunshine up your butt so it suprises you twice as much when it rains. I stopped selling on ebay after claims went against me months after the fact when I had proof it was the buyers fault. Wish you luck though and would love to be wrong.

I did get my claim against the post office though. Seller got 20 bucks over what I paid and I can fix the headlight so it works. Free>perfect

That would be like asking someone to stop crying about trying to do repairs with the wrong parts or the wrong tools.

If you can't write or spell correctly, you're opening yourself up to someone else's interpretation of where they thought you meant to send the package. Doing this and then blaming the person you put the unwelcome onus of doing this upon is utter chickenshit.

It's their policy.

They're not out to protect you, and they're actually not out to protect the buyer all that much, either. they're out to protect themselves.

Some credit cards allow chargebacks up to six months plus out as well. Even if you "win" the PayPal claim, the buyer can go to their credit card and charge you back, and PayPal will yank the money out of you anyways.

In my mind, the idea that once the seller puts the parcel into the hands of the shipper his obligation to the buyer is OVER... is bullshit. The seller contracted the shipper, and the buyer has no way of knowing if the seller actually dropped off the right parcel, right item in the parcel... or spelled the address correctly.

The guy I sent a tank to showed paypal he was away from home until the 45 days was up. As long as you have paypal attatched to a credit card or bank acount you sir are boned most greatly. I agree they are out to cover their own butt not yours. Thats why I gave them the finger. Funny that in 4 years I haven't missed them one bit and buy and sell parts all the time.

Check there policy again... Its 45 days.. I just got off the phone with PayPal.. The purchase was made on feb 20th I recorded the conversation through an app on my smart phone I asked the gal if I could and she said yes and that alot of people do that.. I explained to her the situation and she gave me the whole buyer seller protection act. I had her look up the transaction and she confirmed that there was nothing the purchaser could do an that there is no way to open a claim/dispute on this transaction.. It's well over the 45day window and she states that sometimes twy do a grace period of a week or so.. But that in my case there is nothing he can do...

So I'm leaving it at that I'm not refunding him anything if he wants parts of equal value that's fine but I'm not refunding... He had the option of purchasing insurance and declined.. Case closed...

It's a bum deal and I'm sure il get negitive feed back but il live with it....
Thanks for all the help..

It will be interesting to see.. If they take he 63$ then so be it.. It won't kill me that's for sure.. If I get jacked for 63$ il post it up here for all to laugh at..

I have worked at the Post Office for 19 years and I've seen my share of poorly packed crap and terribly addressed parcels and letters. There are entire facilities devoted to mail with addresses that can't be identified.
I've also seen really bad employees deliver packages to the wrong addresses. It happens at the USPS, Fedex, UPS and Joe Schmoes Shipping.

Take the insurance, address it well with waterproof ink and attach the address with good shipping tape. Don't forget a return address. Make sure it's packed properly.

Not satisfied with the clerks attitude at the window? Talk to the Postmaster. Not satisfied with the Postmasters response? Ask for his superiors phone number and address. Push the problem up. Eventually you might even get to talk to your Senator, and the USPS will certainly kiss a Senators ass.

Postal supervisors treat their employees like dog shit, and those supervisors get crapped on by their postmasters who get shit on by the district managers above them. It goes on like that all the way up the ladder. No respect for anyone in either direction. When you work for a jack-ass that has nothing but rotten things to say to you, some people just "turn off."
I still treat my customers with respect and give them a smile when I can, but I fully understand how some folks can get a really bad attitude. When nothing you do is right, many people tend to do nothing.
That's not an appropriate excuse for lousy service, but the problem comes from much higher than the poor window clerk with a lobby full of angry customers.
Sorry to hijack the thread.

How much time have you spent on this shit now?
You keep on about how 63 bucks isn't going to ruin you and your MBA wife financially, but your time must be worth very little.

I've been shipping mostly USPS lately, but putting $100-200 insurance on them for $2-3. They haven't lost Anything because they know they will have to PAY!
