I've got the muffler bracket and the three hangers that go with the passenger side and I've figured out how they mount, however the driver side has left me stumped.
I'm missing two of the three hangers for that side and the one I have is an un-angled piece that is just possibly a centimeter too short to sit from the rear left cylinder's exhaust outlet down to the bolt just after the Y-pipe and O2 sensor.
If someone could point me to a diagram or somehow explain to me how and where the driver-side exhaust hangers mount I'd be tremendously appreciative. _________________ '84 Vanagon GL 4-speed |

I built my own system as the OEM system was too prone to failure. You can kind of see the passenger side in this pic. It allows the muffler to twist around just a bit instead of holding it overly rigid thus lowering the stress on the parts. I have something similar on the driver's side.

Thanks.
Perhaps I'll just reuse the muffler bracket and the passenger-side hangers (after getting everything apart and sandblasting) and then just have some supports welded on the other side. _________________ '84 Vanagon GL 4-speed |
