CiderGuy i had to narrow the beam because the wheels were already rubbing the lip of the fenders and drop spindles will push the wheels out another 1/4 inch. so i dont think it will have too much of a narrowed beam look. i also dont like the look of the wheels being deep in the fender wells.

varagon the reason for a narrowed beam is so wider wheels can be put on and so the car can be lowered and not have the wheel rub the inner or outer fender.

Lookin' good, Scotty!

Also depends on the wheel width & offset: these are 17x7.5 with ET52 wrapped with 205/50-17 rubber on a stock beam. Drop spindles photo will come next...

car craft sent me the wrong drop spindles. i ordered them with the swaybars on the 8th and received them on the 14th. then sent the spindles back and it looks like they got them on the 21st. i emailed them today so if i dont hear back im going to call them tomorrow. if they had sent me the right ones the car would be on the road by now but it is kind of hard to drive with no front wheels Mad

Only change I'd make on your car is to use heavy-duty black VW factory style transmission mounts instead of the red urethane mounts.

drove it today. the drop spindles made a huge difference in how it rode. it is now smooth instead of bumpy. the sway bars helped a lot in cornering. the car now stays planted when accelerating around a corner from a stop. the only problem is is that my front sway bar is scraping when stopping hard and on bigger dips in the road. im going to see if i can do anything to make it not scrape. i like how the 2 in narrowed beam turned out. the wheels arnt tucked really far in to the wheel wells, its just enough that the tires clear the fender lip and doesn't rub. over all im really happy how everything turned out.

djway3474 i got it off amazon because i had a gift card but some of the vw websites have them. just google search "vw transmission mid mount". the red urethane just sits against the frame horns and it attaches to the transmission.

Very nice, that stance looks excellent! Congrats on improving the look and the ride!!
Also, how tight was the fit?
I have a 3 inch narrowed beam and just got a 3/4 inch swaybar for 2 inch narrowed beam. Think i can get it to fit?

c21darrel it fits pretty well on the 2in narrowed beam. i think it will be a tight squeeze on a 3in narrowed beam. the bushings will probably be angled outwards but i think it could work.

If you can find a link....I have read that re-welding ruins the integrity of the bar.
Lucky I only paid $20 for it and $10 for the clamp kit. I also picked up an old EMPI clamp kit with EMPI stamped in each clamp.
