No, not what kind should I use!
Two questions:
1. When is the best time to remove it after painting? Before the paint sets up? After if flashes? After it drys?
2. In a similar vein, if you're painting multiple coats, do you remove and remask between each coat or just leave it on until all coats are on. Then back to question one! _________________ scrapyards are for quitters

1) After is flashes but before it dries. You don't want the surface of the paint to be wet in case any debris comes off of the tape. make sure the surface is no longer tacky. Pull the tape toward the painted surface.
20. No...just tape once and peel back after your done. |

Pull towards.
Example: You have a flat panel that is painted silver and you want to paint the left side black. Lay down a line of masking tape so the left edge of the tape is where your black will start. Then tape off the right side of the panel with your taping paper.
Paint the left side black. After your 2-3 coats let the panel flash real good. Remove the paper by pulling away from the paint. Now remove the first piece of tape you put down by pulling toward the black side (left). |
