So I have been browsing the 356 classifieds on this site (gosh I have so much more free time these days Wink and it is impressive the number of 356 parts and cars for sale. There are also quite a few parts in that classifieds section that are not 356 parts. As always, caveat emptor.

But my question is, who is the seller "GR & Sons"? I've never heard of them. All the profile says is that the location is Laguna Beach CA.

Would appreciate feedback on that seller. PM me if you wish.

Thanks,

Barry

Please hit report on those as I couldn't find them all when I split the categories into 356 and 911/914/etc.

I am not familiar with "GR & Sons" but I know several people have them on Classifieds Ignore due to the number of ads they have posted.

Hi Barry
You've probably noticed that for all sellers there is a Feedback button that takes you to their feedback topic on the forum. I mention this for some of the new members here.

For the seller you are asking about, there is no feedback yet which I found surprising seeing as how they've been here since 2008 and have 1500+ ads

I stopped looking at the Samba classifieds awhile back due to this guy and a few more like him. It became too tedious to sift through page after page of the same seller.
I think it would be more appropriate if he grouped his ads rather than placing one ad for each item. I know there have been complaints to Everett, but the guy just keeps adding more listings.

He also has by far the highest prices. I am surprised he even sells anything.

Ads are free and renewing them is a simple click.

While managing my ads this past weekend, I noticed some of my ads for 914 parts were listed in the 356 category. I attribute this to the recent splitting of the Porsche Forum and Classifieds, so there will be minor oversights rather than intentional errors.

Go to your Control Panel and add the individual to your Classifieds Ignore List. That way, none of his ads will appear in your searches.

This is true of a bunch of people on here, there are many VW sellers like this as well that have hundreds of ads for parts, 99% of which are overpriced.

On every one I have checked, including GR & Sons, they get emails on their ads almost every single day. So I assume they are selling things from time to time.

In a lot of cases we are spoiled in the USA with the availability of parts and these people are selling to Europe.

Thanks Everett. I went through the first 10 pages of ads and reported those I thought were in the wrong category.

Lots of 356 parts for sure. Small percentage of non 356 parts. Given the huge number of ads on your entire site I appreciate how hard it must be to monitor them all.

Thank you, I got all your reports and moved (wrong category) or deleted (water-cooled Porsche stuff) almost all of them.

Just a heads-up, we don't have moderators assigned to the classifieds, we basically rely on visitors to report ads in the wrong category or other violations. This typically works very well as there are people who are very diligent about "their" categories. So if you are the kind of person that looks at all the new 356 ads every day, feel free to report things as needed. Thank you.

Everett, at what point does a prolific seller become a professional Vendor and thus must post their ads in the Vendor section?

I made a thread in the Site Forum to explain things:
