OK mate! I'm sorting out a flight to go across the pond. Need to practice my British accent. REALLY. I feel having a pint with you at the Bear would be a good publicity stunt for my rise to internet stardom? Don't you think? Cheers Wink

Nice one brother!

That sounds like the best way to increase your internet profile for sure! haha Wink

It will be nice hanging out at the Bear with a proper pint in hand a few birds lurking around for the capture. Bloody Yanks! Be ready mate, a few internet famous Yanks are heading over to the Shire, and I’m not talking about Bilbo nor Frodo Baggins.

Just installed this all brand new 1600cc dual port. The long block was built by Ed Faulkner of Whittier, Cali. Ed is the same guy who built the motor on my 71 Westfalia. They both drive bitchin!! (you want a good reliable stock motor ....... Ed Faulkner is the guy to talk to. Contact me if you want a motor built.)

All components on this motor are all new. The top end was put together by Robert Velis, aka - VW KIDD. Thanks Robert!

This bus runs BAD ASS! The transmission is a stock 1967 big nut with everything new inside. And now I have a heater!!! Though who really needs a heater out here in Southern California!!?? It's nice to have when driving out to shows which start at the crack of the morning.

And before you ask .......... all the drive train and wheels from Baboon are being mounted on Señor Panel, my other 1954 Shocked BOOM!!!

Comrad - we are twins!!!! PRAHDAH!!!!

Yep. That's pretty right there. Nothing like all new to take most of the worry out of a long trip. Congrats!

Yes Vince, nothing like a new motor. I've been driving it locally, but don't know when I will be doing a long trip with it??? As I have the 71 Westfalia up and running too! Best of both worlds Wink

Yes sir! No doubt about that. I was going nuts for a while there. The 54 took a dump in January and the 71 in April!!!!! I got them both running within a few weeks apart. I drove the 71 down to San Diego to visit Cuñado, drove like a champ. Now I need to do a long run in the Barndoor??? Next up sometime soon is my other 54!!! Shocked

Thanks Johnny Pickénez!! It drives really nice and smooth. I'm using a George Schmidt/Butcher Shop mount, which he created and developed while at M.I.T. in Armenia (their Satellite campus). He also did a few other things as well. I tell you John, this bus runs really tight and smooth, aside from all the loud ass noise/rattling Barndoors are notorious for Wink

Thats awesome You and Dougie drive them Barn doors, with this crazy Bus bubble, I'm always afraid they'll end up in private collections and museums!
