Im a noob to this forum and just got my first car probably 2 months ago. My first car happens to be a 71 bay window-which i have always thought were cool- that me and my dad are restoring to be my daily driver. Every since i was little i have loved VW's and been around them. My dad has a Porsche 914 that is set up for autocross, it is a blast to ride in and cruise. Now that i am out of school i am able to go to work with my dad and work on my bus pretty much every day (we are able to store and work on the bus at his shop). The current state of the bus is completely stripped down to bare metal and we are ready to start repairing body panels that are rusted through and such. My dad has left this project completely up to me and ocasionally helps with random things, but i am doing all of the work. This project has been loads of fun so far and i cant wait until we slam it to the ground and i can cruise. Very Happy Please reply with advice, comments and i am always looking for sponsers and help.

Thanks, Collin

I was over exaggerating when i said "slammed". What we plan on doing is lowering it to the point where it will still be totally driveable especially since it will be a daily driver. Now i like the look of a bus dropped on the ground but it isnt even close to practical!
P.s im not going to suffer through a horrible ride everytime i drive it

Welcome. Can't wait to see your progress on the bus. That's awesome you get almost everyday to work on your bus! Take opportunity of the time. It will pay off.

From what I have seen in the forum, it's always good to do a search before you make a new post on frequently asked questions. This will help you save face. Wink

New repair panels came in from Bus Depot. We were missing one so we will have to reorder it and may buy a different windshield rust replacement from the Klassicfab place. Other than that I have plenty of work to do!
