Cranks fine... but what did i burn out? condensor or points? both? how do you check what happened?

if you left the key on for a long time it could be the coil you have burned out.

if you can find another coil to try out that should do it.

sweet... i got a few old ones layin around. I dont have an assistant... and my car is 7 miles away... so determining spark is kinda tough doin it solo.

plus... i dont got the innernet out there. Kind of in the sticks burried in the mountains of washington state.

I'm betting the points are welded together. Take a static timing light and a set of feeler gauges.

and I assume you dont have an electronic points conversion (petronix) in it


as leaving key on does burn those out

Id bet its the points ar fried -pop your cap and look

Found the problem... there is no juice going to the positive side of the coil...
