I think the roof line may have split the carcass open causing all that blood loss and internal parts to splatter-paint the interior of the car. I'm hoping that no one was in the front passenger seat when it happened. Glad to know we don't have this problem on Kauai. We have Axis deer, but they don't venture out onto the highways where the faster vehicles travel. They prefer the remote higher elevation non-hunting grounds.

Well, insurance inspection went well and they've already cut me a check. Replacement parts have been ordered from Meyers Manx, but it's a two week + turn around and then another two weeks shipping. Stupid deer is costing me an entire month of summer weather. _________________ Manxter #39 on a 1971 Pan

Got the first replacement parts yesterday.. Used the insurance money to get a better set of driving lights than what I originally had on there..

My 65 year old Sister lives in Maryland. Over the years she has TOTALED four cars from deer. Three of which came through the windshield like in the previous photos. One deer actually ended up with it's severed head on her lap ! Thank God she was driving big cars like old 70's, Ford LTD's, Pontiac Bonnevilles and Chevy Monte Carlos.
She said she was driving down the road and at the last instance saw them on the road bank in the dark. The stupid deer see the roadway lit up before them and they think it's okay to jump onto the lighted up roadway. They don't know that you are coming at them at high speed. If you use brighter lights, they are even more inclined to jump into the light because they can see where they are going, so ultra high beams can even be worse.
If you live in deer country, they make deer whistles that you can put on your front bumper to scare deer away.
After my Sister wrecked her 4th car, I told her I was going to buy her an antique Sherman Tank with a large front bumper plate that said, DEER SLAYER |

Still here. We leave August 28th. Pretty busy packing but you can certainly swing by to check it out anytime. I'll pretty much be home 24/7 untill the move. In fact next Saturday 2pm were having a big party before we head out. You should stop by. _________________ Manxter #39 on a 1971 Pan
