Okay I found a 1971 Squareback thats been sitting in a closed garage for about 20 years. Owners passed away long ago, so very little prior history. milage shows 110,000? Interior is in good shape and carpet rubber mats look fine. Rocker panels on drivers side gone and drivers rear fender flaps in the breeze. front right inner fender looks rough where bumper mounts and bubbling on some spots around lights and next to doors on both fenders. Floor pan looks fairly solid and all glass and rubber is in good shape. The engine turns over by hand, I would guess with mileage the motor must have been rebuilt. I am trying to figure out what I should offer or if I should just run away. I have restored type 1's. What do you think? |

I'll think I will pass on this one, the rust bothers me and thats only the part I can see. Now if I can only convince the person with the 21 window and double cabs to part with one. |

Don't run too far....a little rust repair could go along way. Nothing like a squareback in my opinion and I have had a ton of different aircooleds. Only car I have had that I liked better than either of my squares was my 62 ragtop bug. Squares are fun see what you can get it for _________________ Buy my 2.0 liter Fuchs on EBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/130708657021?item=13070865..._500wt_922 |
