Hi Dave
Only just come across your build, I am normally in the Ghia forum, your car is looking fantastic, I am surprised I have not seen you around as I am just down the A128 in Brentwood.
I would like to contacting you via PM when the time is right might pick your brain with your experience with some of the suppliers you used and the one's to avoid . (Currently building the resto fund at the moment - few years off yet though).
I stuck with Volksworld subscription and gave up on the Ultra VW - too many slammed water-cooled cars, but will go out and get a copy tomorrow to see your bug in print (always had a soft spot for an oval).
Very inspirational- especially as I have covered the last 3 years progress in 30 mins.
I like the fact you have tried to use original where possible and keep with stock.
Hope to see you around once the weather gets better.
Very nice car !

Great photos Dave.....I'm kinda getting sick and tired of the original Patina look and wish that my car could look this good again, LOL!

I saw this car the other day when picking up a spare 30hp motor (thanks Dave) and it really is just beautiful. A remarkable job well done. Truly a lovely car. _________________ 1954 L227 Type 113

Thanks all for the kind comments, means a lot. Was very pleased with the feature and glad it made the vintage special. Already started on a very crusty 68 but I'm tempted to another oval but maybe earlier this time. |

Other projects and things to do. It was never going to be a keeper. Not going to give it away though, so it sells when it sells.
Might try a split bug next or an earlier Oval |

No, not yet. had a good few inquiries and turned down some offers. Had a guy from Belgium come take a look and it looks like it might be going into the Brooklands auction. Like I say no rush and it its a need to sell sale so we can hold out for the right offer. Have a couple of folks wanting to view so will see how that goes. |

Beautiful oval for sure - is this the one advertised at £27,000 on a UK Internet site - classic cars I think ?. |

Yes its with a UK RollsRoyce and vintage car dealer, we had very little say in the price. It was appraised by a few different people and this is what they agreed it was worth. They have a very different customer base and client list to what we could break into so I guess we will wait and see.
Check out some of there stock.....amazing stuff

Wow
There are some lovely cars there , your oval is in good company - at nearly $40k it's one of the least expensive on the site |

Its the least expensive classic they have, given that there are people who are turning up to look at RollsRoyces in excess of £1.6 million maybe they will pick it up as an impulse buy on there way out lol.....
Personally I think its priced to high...... |

Now fitted the trunk liner and wire cover, seemed to be an issue for some reason with people viewing so on they went. |
