Does anybody have a good close up shot of the wiring to the wiper motor from the switch? this was missing from our loom. I have the correct purple black wire but want see how it runs.
Also is the rear seat bar black or the same colour as the seat frames/shifter column tube etc?? ours has no paint at all.
Cheers

Seat bars were black.

Dave,
With regard to the rear seat bar; are you referring to the piece that runs horizontally across the frame tunnel, and the front edge of the bottom seat cushion rests on this, and is held in place by this "bar"?
If so, the color of this rear seat bar is the same color as the other painted interior parts, such as the steering column, gear and handbrake levers, etc., as used in the 1956-1957 model year.

Bruce is correct. The bottom bar for the rear seat is the same color as the other interior parts. I thought you were referring to the luggage bars on the back of the rear seat. They are gloss black. _________________ It all works on paper.

Been busy with the wiring. Tested it all today and all seems good! Had to change my wiper wiring since this pic was taken as the courtesy light would only work when you pulled the switch
Date stamped speedo was a nice touch I thought.

Well things have moved on a bit! Not entirely happy with the overall fit bit a bit of tweaking will get it where it needs to be.
Having major dash handle issues at the moment but will hopefully find a way round this.
Off to upholstery soon....

Well been fettling about with fitting things up. Need to re-align both rear wings and sort the decklid. This is the first fit up so not bad for straight bolting them on.
Also been re-doing a few things in the motor department. Re-did the coil bracket so it is the correct Finnish not black. Replaced all the wiring on the distributor as it looked scruffy. Also repainted the coil.
Its off to upholstery as soon as a spots free to have the headliner fitted.
Had a front seat repaired as the OG interior is really good.
This is before
Get it back tomorrow all repaired and hopefully almost as good as new.
Re-did the tar boards as they didn't look right. Think thats all for now, waiting for all the chrome to come back then can press on with doors! |

Dave, this looks to be a first-class quality restoration with real attention to detail, correctness, and originality.
I very much enjoy watching the progress you have made, and really look forward to seeing this car when it is completed. I'm sure it will be magnificent.
Keep up the fine work.
Best Regards,

Many thanks for the kind words, we are trying our best to be as correct as possible and we have put a real emphasise on quality. Im glad its come across that way.
Just wish some of the suppliers would have the same attitude which is why we have done as much as we can ourselves. Hope to have an update later today with the restored interior.
cheers

Thanks all for the kind words...
Our attention is now turning to the carpet now that all the seats are repaired.
What is the correct colour carpet for our colour combination?
Iv found two colours listed but want the 100% correct one.
I have seen silver grey listed and honey brown. Im swayed towards the honey brown being correct but any pointers greatly appreciated!
Cheers

I think the silver grey is what's in my car, I know you can't get the original carpet anymore, I have to dig out some photos....whatever's in my car is the correct one for a late L331 Oval.
