DBM, I'm not bitching about CIP1 for the engine; and/or the distributer that cooked it. I've looked into the whole sue thing, and what it would cost me should I lose, outweighs the gain, for the simple reason that I can't afford anything right now. Plus, CIP1 has roots in Canada and "can you imagine" trying to navigate the small claims structure there, from across the country? I'm pissed, but through some help from friends, I have a good motor to replace mine, and I just have to chalk this up as what it is! But "damn" the engine ran sweet for the 30 miles before the dizzy crapped out, so I know the vacuum advance is the way to go with next engine..

For me, I think it would be wrong to use CIP1 again, regardless how I liked their ordering process, just out of principal. Perhaps in the future I'll change my mind, but if I have alternatives, I'll use others.

Goat,,,,"yeh, it was electronic. "dizzy" is just less letters to type, and I saw it for the first time in my 50+ years, here in Samba, and I frankly avoided using it for awhile..... But the lure of typing less letters sucked me in like turd going down the poop-shoot, and seen as everyone understood the terminology; "well,,,,it is what it is!"

I understand why people do it too. We sometimes post discussions at work, and we have to be quick about it...

Don't take offense; it's just a word!

Walter at Bus Boys has always done right by me. What was your problem? He's like a one man operation (I suppose) and has always been great to deal with.

His communication is sorely lacking. When I did get him and ordered, he was very polite and knowledgeable, but then shipped my order sans a buncha parts they didnt bother to tell me were on back order. Just put a note that said they didnt have them, so didnt charge me. Thats fine, but you coulda called me back so I could have bought them elsewhere. Cant use the clutch w/o the throwout bearing. Thats happened twice. Never again.

If one makes a call to Walter and asks if he has it in stock he will check for you. Then you can decide right then and there if you want to wait. He won't be insulted if it doesn't work for you. Same for BusDepot and same for Scott, WW etc etc. The responsibility to get it quickly is part yours too.

This is turning into a seller feedback thread.

For used parts I have been getting stuff from Blair and Sons Auto Parts in Arizona recently. They have a large boneyard there and have been great so far! I've order three separate times from them.

Yes, Jan Blair is a good source and a great local guy. Use Google maps satellite view to check out his yard and dub inventory.
However shop now and not try to do it later. Inventory now is nothing like it was a few years ago. Salvage yards are shutting down rapidly. Selling parts one at a time for $5 or $10 is nothing at all compared with loading up big containers for the boat ride. Euro is grabbing up our yards big time. Dubs returning back to the motherland after all their years here.
