i am at the point in which i need to build a new transaxle mount. the one that was on the buggy when i got it, aint cutting it. its currently just a strap pretty much, and it moves under the torque of the engine. im trying to figure out which mounting "style" is in my best interest. wether it be a mount that loops under the trans and mounts using the 2 lower trans mounts, or a topside type mount that uses the 3 upper bolts behind the nose cone area (sorry for my poor description as i dont know all the parts names yet lol). obviously you've all seen both options, given my shifter linkage location, what do you think would be best? which is strongest? the rest of my projects are waiting on this one lol.

If its a dual side cover transaxle how about longer studs in the top 4 side plate mounts and hanger brackets that mount to the studs and in turn anchor to buggy chassis...
Could also use upper studs on nosecone on where the two major portions of trans case come to together to mount a plate to... Would not limit the plate to just three studs, but try to be a little more intricate and catch as many studs as possible...

This is the set up on my brothers rail. It uses the rear loop to mount to the nosecone mount and the other two bars coming down at an angle in front of it mount to the bellhousing pads.

| i've kinda got a plan that will incorporate a skid plate i want too. hotrod, what kinda shift linkage is that? its much more low profile than mine. also, what are bellhousing pads? bare with me as im still learning here lol. the buggy is on the trailer and is going up to the fab shop by my work tomorrow. i'm basically going to run a 1 1/2'' tube from the cross bar in front of the engine, mount to the nosecone, and make a 1' 180 and back up to the cross bar. two supports will come down like the loop style to support that. it makes sense in my head i swear lol |

Here's a generic pic showing the bellhousing mounts. I circled them in red.
The shifter is a Mazzone one. It works really well and it's nice not having any cables to adjust.
