|
|
| Hi when I turn my key nothing happens. Not even the 'cluck' of a frozen starter throwout. However, when I 'pinch or jiggle' the wires going up into my newly replaced ignition switch, the starter throws in and it starts. Why would jiggling the wires make it fire? Anyone can help please do? thanks... |

Did this work fine just after the new ignition switch was installed? Or did the same symptoms just continue after you replaced the ignition switch? If the symptoms are the same, I'd say you have an "open" in the hot wire leading to the ignition switch, or possibly the "run" wire. Do you get the oil and generator light to come on when you turn the key? _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each.
