Got a section of floorpan from T3D ages ago to fit and need a bit of advice please. I don't know whether to trim it flush and weld to the edge of the tunnel or fit it on top like on a Beetle as originally they have a one piece pan with the tunnel welded on top.Pic below of the pan in place for a trial fitting. Many thanks,Steve

I am gathering it should be a butt weld using tig from both sides, then lightly ground smooth with a flappy disk? thats just my thought, I have little experience with fabrication but I do know the theory well.

I'm gonna butt weld the front and rear where it meets the existing pan and I can trim to fit the tunnel lip that way too but I wasn't sure if it was the best way. Thanks for the reply
