|
|
I recently substituted my velocity stacks on twin Weber 44 IDF'with aircleaners to keep the water and dirt out. Should I also be using stacks inside the aircleaners? And if so, what height stack relative to the 3 1/2" high air cleaner?
Thanks for your advice.

It's always good to use at some stocks, but you may need to get shorter ones since you are using those aircleaners. The first thing that comes to mind is the aluminum stacks CB sold with the 45 and 48 dellortos, they were big enough diameter for the larger carbs yet still shorter than 2", not sure if you can buy em new but they do exist |

How tall were you original velocity stacks?
Changing height will change your total inlet length and may affect performance. _________________ (06:31:07) RoachGhia: "i drink dick way too fast" |

You should always use stacks, it creates a steady air flow, and prevents backfires. The original 2" stacks will work fine inside the 4" breathers. _________________ ---------------------------------------

yup. and properly made tops to increase flow would be nice too, but were not going to see that. |

Think of air as a liquid - Anytime you can get it to flow over a rounded edge you will help minimize turbulence. _________________ '63 slow n low build thread...

I would agree, however your math is wrong..
he has 3 1/2 tall aircleaners and somewhere around 2 1/4 stacks |
