The PO of my 70 Fastback gutted the original FI, switched to carbs and installed a mechanical fuel pump. Over the weekend the mechanical fuel pump failed, so I took the first step back to FI and installed a small electric fuel pump in the original location.
According to the Bentley FI diagram the FI relay pin 85 goes through a connector to pin 19 on the ECU.
Since I don't have the ECU any more, so can I just ground this wire? When grounded the pump runs all the time, both on crank and run positions.
Or, is this wire just grounded by the ECU for the initial pressurization of the system, before cranking and my permanent grounding is incorrect? |

My 1st ecu failed by not putting a ground out to the fuel pump relay, to bypass that and end the search of replacing the ecu I ground the wire from the relay and left to the end to the ecu caped and dead. again has worked fine with no problems over the last 3 years.. _________________ 1973 Squareback Stock F.I - Hazel
