|
|
I have been having a tough time getting someone to make me AC lines for my 91 van with 97 EJ22. I have gone to 2 hydraulic line shops and 1 custom AC shop.
Does anyone make these lines that I could buy online?
I don't have the time to run around to more shops just to get a puzzled look. I have even brought the step by step on Brent's site: http://www.weidefamily.net/vanagon/
I guess the other option would be to buy the necessary parts online if someone could be kind enough to provide a source.
Thank You in advance. _________________ -cliff

You could cut off the VW connectors and re-crimp some new hose with straight thru fittings to the existing VW hoses and to your existing Subaru compressor fittings. The high pressure hose size matches, #6 or #8 (I can check when I get home) but the low side hose is #12 on the Subaru end and VW used #10 hose.

Sells the parts you need.
Then you would just need a portable A/C hose crimper, they can be found on eBay and other places. This is the one I bought, I should rent it out.

I used compression fittings that I got from rayeveritt.com and they work great. Or you can cut off your old ferrule and crimp a new hose onto the old hardline, but often the stock hardlines don't point the way you want them to. _________________ 1986 Vanagon Westfalia EJ25

napa should be able to get you any fittings and hose you need.
youll just need to find a way to crimp it. _________________ 03 GMC Sierra _ 99 Cabrio supercharged

Heres how I did mine, use subaru hose end on compressor, have hose shop adapt them and have 3' on each line put on, I used some couplers from napa that used hose clamps, works perfect.
still cost me about 200 though |

And that's all ya have to do--
Use the ends that are on your compressor, and cut the stock lines & either take the Van to the hose place to get compression fittings installed for the union, or use a simple AC splice connection on both hoses.
Couldn't be easier---.
Be sure to double clamp on the in line splices so they don't leak. _________________ T.K. |

Any help on specific sizes for fittings? May try to just order the parts online and DIY. _________________ -cliff
