So I'm driveing my baja thro town and it has this wired vibration on the right side like lose tire or bent rim so I got out to check on it and everything looks good

Then out of know where my engine revs up wall in gear and isn't going forward so I pull over and see what's up and try to put it in first. When I do and slowly engage it with out adding gas and bring it to full engagement and it bogs down the engine just slightly and every like second it just barly grabs and rocks the tire about a 1/4 inch forward and then rolls back and douse this again all with ought me touching the gas.

Does any one have any idea what happened

sounds like you stripped the teeth out of your brake drum. have someone stand next to the car and see if the center nut is spinning with the wheel/tire not turning when you put it in gear.

more likely to be the drum than the axle that has stripped out.

You'll need a new drum and make sure you pick up a hammer tool to tighten the axle nut up with. The nuts have to have 270 ft lbs at least.

On a related note sometimes new drums tend to wear in and may need a retorque after a couple miles. I had to do this twice on my last set but after that they mainained their torque.

Gary.

Actually torque is 217 ft-lbs for swing axle, not 270... (270 is flywheel gland nut)...

Anyway I hate the "hammer wrench"... Prefer 3/4 inch drive socket (36mm) and 3/4 drive breaker bar and 5-6 foot cheater pipe.... Better control on torque....
