I believe this is just another attempt by Ken Morgan (Jake, et al) to fool people into believing there is a new better rebuild option available. Do some checking to be sure...but otherwise AVOID!

Damn, Thanks for the warning, I would love a 2.5 GW but can't handle warranty guide lines with rebuilding the cooling system which is fine.

Thanks Steve

Yep, this one has SCAM written all over it

Also doing business as:

http://outletengines.com/

I don't see a connection to Ken Morgan/Jake Lake nor is it necessarily a scam... but it is at this point an unknown quantity in the biggest $$$ decision a van owner makes.

Engine rebuild is not an area I would care to roll the dice on.

I just looked at the website. This is definitely another Ken Morgan/Jake Lake alias business. The "hand planked" rods and "euro Syncro cam" are a dead giveaway. Steer clear! As strange as it may seem, the only rebuilt WBX engines that are a known quantity (known to be good) are Vanistan, Go Westy, and the guy that built Bob Donalds' engines. I would stick with those if you choose to stick with a WBX.

Good catch on the "hand planked".

I've done that to salmon but wouldn't know where to begin on a con rod.

I did a Whois on waterboxer.com once when I first found it and it was registered to ken Morgan. Now it appears to have been registered privately.

Interesting in that the [corrected] address is a storage facility. Not the first time he's 'run a business' from a storage facility.

Blue Bay Bus Why would anyone with any sense not be able to pay $600.00 more and get a ten cent engine or a Go Westy , and deal with a known quantity. You get what you pay for! Very Happy

Funny, storage units were always kens favorite places to set up shop.

Lol yep, 'run a business'

I helped him move into one here in Colorado once, oh those were the days.

"Hand-planked": that's a moving-target-federal-wire-fraudster-known-as-Ken Morgan trademarked phrase, that's for sure. What does it mean, that he whacks 'em with a board or something? And there was no "Syncro" cam that I was ever aware of, euro or non. It's pure bullshit from morning to night, and night comes lonely at the storage locker.

You forgot Rocky Jennings.

there will be a never ending line of suckers to buy something if you claim it's "just as good only 20% cheaper", that's how this guy stays in business.....

People can't help themselves when they perceive a "deal"....

Some do it even when they know better.

X2...and this goes for people not just buying from this guy, but those selling to him. Before I knew KM was Jake Lake I responded to a Craigslist ad for Vanagon stuff. I loaded up 4 waterboxers in my van to do some trading, sounded so good. When I arrived at a storage facility and a giant guy with a stitched-on name tag saying "Ken" on his shirt appeared, I told him I didn't appreciate his tactics and left. Can't believe he's still out there. Best way to stop the pusher is to cut off his supply.
