I realize that the dust has barely settled on the Colorado Springs Invasion last month, but.....
We have very enthusiastic hosts that have volunteered to coordinate the 2014 Invasion. Dave and Gail Pallo have been regulars at the Invasions with their Squareback (Elwood) since the Hershey Invasion and will make great hosts. They are also located in western New York which will get the Invasion back on the Eastern half of the US which follows our practice of alternating East and West.
We have not nailed down all of the details, the specific date, or even an exact location just yet, but the 2014 Invasion will be held in the Finger Lakes Region of western New York in the summer of 2014!
This is a very picturesque area of New York with proximity to the Finger Lakes, Lake Ontario, western NY wine country, Niagara Falls, and Watkins Glen raceway. Dave and Gail are even planning on talking to the Watkins Glen raceway about getting us some track time! Will see how that pans out.
Anyway, we will update this thread as the details come together. We will have a dedicated website and such as in the past as well. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up and thank Dave and Gail for volunteering to host. Having an enthusiastic local host is the key to the continued success of the Invasions.
See you all in 2014 in NY!

As many of you know, arranging vacation time and getting tour car ready takes up calendar days in a hurry! So, you have 23 months...that should give Bob time to build 2 more cars and the rest time to tune theirs up _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

I'm not planning on building 2 cars between now and then, but it might be the excuse I need to finish my Square-vert. And IF it's not done, then the T-34 could be a back up. At least this one will only be a day drive, instead of 2 or 3.
And Leo, you need to get that Notch out of the garage, and on the road before thinking about driving it to the Invasion. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

In case anyone's wondering, this is what it looked like in 2006.
And these were from 2008.
In 2009, I reworked the top frame (sorry no pics) a little more, and got it to drop in (folded) behind the rear seat. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

2700 miles each way! Sigh.
Would it be cheating to have my Squareback transported?
It would give me an excuse to spend some time with my son, who is attending Bard College in Annandale. _________________ Robert Bills

It would only be cheating, if you were after the long distance award. Otherwise no. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Thank you all for allowing us to host an Invasion, and we will be honored to be your hosts!
I believe we have a good handle on what we need to research and plan for in order to have a successful and fun Invasion weekend, and we already have been working on these plans. I am in Fairport, New York, and like John said this upstate area is bordered by the great lakes and the finger lakes, and it is very comfortable in June. I PROMISE no snow, and the odds are greatly in our favor that it'll be much cooler here than out last 2 mid-country Invasions!
I will keep everyone posted as to the plans as we progress. This is gonna be fun! _________________ 1972 SquareBack.....recycled back to life......
