You may be a surgeon, but you're also an artist! Beautiful work. I used to have a '74 2.0 and I sure miss that car. I never should have sold it, but it the car and I were both broke, and I was in college, so...
I can't wait to see how this 914 turns out! |

Very very nice. You bled everything in so seamlessly! I am sure that takes a lot of time. Props for your patience! |

Wow, just absolutely amazing work!
Perfect metal work like this is almost becoming a lost art these days when most just fill with bondo.
I'd love to learn more but no one teaches this type of work over here so I have to teach myself, with the arch flares you use a mig to tack them on? then use a tig for the rest? with or without filler rod? _________________ https://www.facebook.com/pages/West-Worx/460154187360186 |

Thanks for sharing your knowledge, will try that method now I have a better understanding.
When you cool the metal you let it cool naturally or with air? water?
I assume once welded you just metal finish the same way as when you do a dent repair, dolly / slapper etc? _________________ https://www.facebook.com/pages/West-Worx/460154187360186 |

Thanks for letting us in on a bit or your technique. I'm sure it takes years to get there. And thanks for posting up your projects. I know I always look forward the see updates. _________________ BarryL wrote:

The whole thing was all there just waiting to be re-atomized. Funny how easily they cut them up back then."

How do you finish up the weld seams? Do you grind the seam clean and use welding/brazing as a means of filler? _________________ West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943) |

Gary, After the butt weld? I just use a slapper/dollies and a file |
I'm going to look around your website some more. Do you have any videos showing how to use a slapper and file? _________________ West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943) |

Nice work, I am doing my 79 SB Conv right now, but am thinking of building a 914 Track car next, for High Plains raceway. I will keep an eye on your project and maybe this spring we can get together. I'd love to pick your brain. KYLE |
