Hope I don't sound like an ass but masking those things on your dash probably cost the same amount of time as taking them of.
Serious! The switches are of in a second!
Same for the grab and the speedo
Bad ass job for getting this bus on the road!

Excellent work, mate.
If I had half the initiative my '62 would be rolling.
Better go do those rear brakes........ _________________ Cheers & God Bless

Thanks guys! And as for the taping off, I just got lazy and left everything on...The gas gauge screws were stuck and the speedometer screws didn't budge either, so I gave up and got the tape out...
When I paint the dash white later on I'm gonna pull everything off and do it right... _________________ 1967 13 Window Deluxe

I was tempted but I decided against it...There just wasn't enough floor left to attach the car tags to...
When are we going to start on yours? You know I'll be there to help! _________________ 1967 13 Window Deluxe

Here is a small update....
Tie rods I bought from Campingbox:
Frame patch trimmed some more:
And welded in:
And the passenger's side of the frame:
I was kind of ashamed to post these pictures since the welds look so terrible. I couldn't see what the hell I was doing due to space constraints...And the metal was so thin on the driver's side it kept blowing through. But once I grind them down it should look much better...
Well that's all for now. _________________ 1967 13 Window Deluxe

I have still been slowly working on the bus if anyone has been wondering. I work in retail so you can imagine how busy it is this time of year...
Here's what I got done so far:
Cross-members welded in and part of the frame painted with Masterseries.
Pulled the wiring harness back through the frame and labeled all the wires.
Re-installed the gas tank.
Pulled the spring plates off and painted them and the covers.
Removed and cleaned the transaxle up.
Hopefully on my next off day I can have the spring plates reset and some pics of my progress uploaded... _________________ 1967 13 Window Deluxe

Well things did not go as planned today so unfortunately I didn't get much done on the bus...But I do have some pictures of the past work I have done to it...
My rear shift rod is bent too, so I am going to have to cut the bent part out and splice a new piece in. Whoever pulled the beam out in the junkyard bent it so much it wouldn't come out of the tube without me cutting it first.

Not much of an update but I finally got the spring plates back on...
And I spent the rest of the night scraping off undercoating. Fun times!

I haven't given up on the bus, if anyone was wondering. I have still been working on it, just not updating the thread regularly. If everything goes to plan I will be driving to Charlotte Transporter show next month. I will update the thread here in a day or two... _________________ 1967 13 Window Deluxe

As fun as it is to have someone riding in the Bus with me on the Charlotte trip, I really hope that instead I'll be sharing the road with your Bus this year.

Here is what took me so long to fix...
That is a broken front beam bolt..With an EZ-out broken off in said bolt. Ruh-Roh.
Here is my solution to that problem...
My dad whittled these out on the lathe for me...I ended up cutting the frame open on the other side too because the insert was almost rusted completely through. I have pics of that to post later...
I also had to replace the shifter base because my repairs didn't work...Pics of that to follow...I also replaced the transaxle as the one I had put in before had bad reduction box bearings. Plus it came out of a bus that was parked for years, so I had no idea if it was good or not.
Here is how the bus looks now...
