Here's a place to post and discuss Volkswagen based radio and remote control cars. There's been a few R/C threads (chit chat) over the years here on the Samba, but not a general thread dedicated specifically to VW R/C cars.
Post up here if you have toy grade, hobby grade, or scratch build R/Cs... as long as they are VW!
I'll get the ball rolling with one of mine- The Snowhopper. A ski patrol rescue beetle I built recently.
It's Tamiya Grasshopper based, a Kamtec baja body from the UK, vintage snow ski set, dual rear wheel adapters, Vintage You-G shocks (with 5th shock mod), and my fav vintage Hitec radio. Aluminum suspension parts were designed/cut specifically for this project.

And here's the old Mardave V-Dub special. This was their VW bodied car based around the "V12" chassis. No longer produced as a kit, and hard to find in the US.
Back left you can see a V12 chassis with a Kamtec repop of the HPI bus body. I'll have it painted and mounted soon. |

Here's the drift Beetle I completed recently. It's an ABC hobby chassis, and a re-pop IMAI body from Australia.

...and my NIB Kyosho Peanut 09 Baja Bug. The Dune Buggy version is more common. I've actually never seen another one of the Bugs. This is probably the last NIB Bug version on earth

Current project- Taking the Tamiya Wheelie Bus body and giving it a proper chassis and stance.
And the parts to make it happen:

Awesome stuff. I used to be BIG into R/C racing in the 80's, but haven't been in years.
I've never seen that Kyosho off-road racer beetle! Granted, I haven't seen many of the others you've posted, but that racer is sweet looking! _________________ "In any racing engine, the nearer you are to it disintegrating, the better it's performance will be"

Not the greatest picture of it, but that is a Bolink Digger on the work bench.
