I want to adjust slop on the steering wheel but I'm leaking oil from the top seal. If I could find the seals I would attempt to rebuild it. Any suggestion?

the main gasket is an o-ring. Use RTV or Curil. You will also want to order some very high grade 5/16 ball bearings to replace the ones in the cages. I think that is the size.

To adjust it properly you will need a 0-25 or 0 - 60 INCH BEAM torque wrench. You can make your own fixture from a clamp off an old steering gear that is junk. Only weld the bolt on one side so the clamp still works. It will allow you to put a socket on it to spin and adjust it.

Now this tool is used directly on the steering box, correct?. While adjusting the center adjusting screw to eliminate play at the Drag link arm, do I reattach the drag ling arm to test if it turns at 11 inch pounds?

No

Adjust the box in it's center snug position with the draglink not attached to the pitman arm. And then with your wheels exactly straight ahead adjust the drag link to the pitman arm while the box in it's center snug position.

When driving straight ahead if the box isn't centered you will have slop in your steering.

yes John. The bearing preload is measured by how much resistance it takes to turn the gearbox thru center. There is also a preload on the worm shaft. Those numbers are in inch pounds.
