Nice fix silkvw.
If you don't mind saying, how many hours did you have logged to fix it? _________________ -Corey

I don't mind. I didn't do any of the bodywork or paint, it was done at Austin Vee Dub by Juan, Oscar and crew. The estimate was for around 117 hrs. bodywork and 42hrs. for paint. I went by to see the truck often, and think they spent much more time working on it. Almost all the old paint was sanded off, all chips and dents were repaired, primed and block sanded. Rusty metal was replaced on the lower nose, cab floor, gates and the entire treasure chest floor replaced with new green floor. Several years ago I worked as the manager of a body shop, so know a little about what to look for to judge bodywork and paint, I'm not an expert for sure, but I am very pleased with their work. They let me supply parts to save some money and did many items I have never gotten around to in the past 13 years I have owned and driven my sc.
Also, I had stated value on the truck, so most of the repair cost was covered by the insurance.
I really admire your work and skill to repair a truck damaged much worse than mine! _________________ '64 single cab Big Bend Bus Bash 2015 '16

Having a 3 month year old around the house is slowing down my progress a little.
Managed a few work sessions this week.

It is interesting to watch the pieces of the puzzle fall back into place. _________________ nothing |

It'd be cool if we could get the title of this thread changed so everyone would know what they'll find in this thread.
Cut some more rot out.

Maybe the silver lining to the accident is that this rust is getting fixed that could have caused safety issues down the road. Nice work! _________________ "A rolling bus gathers no rust." |

Yes, if that lower rust was in a passenger bus instead of a single cab, it would probably have folded up in the accident. _________________ Founder and Chairman Emeritus, ECMSAS
