Got after it for about an hour today. Unbolted all the mangled shit.
Looks better with all the bent stuff off. Only had one nut insert spin on me while taking the rear gate off. Not too bad for a rusty truck. _________________ -Corey

Well... Hopefully he has learned his lesson. Might be better learned if he had to fix it himself. Good luck. |

What's the lesson to be learned? Don't have an accident? No one intentionally wrecks their Volkswagen I believe. I don't think he needs to be taught anything for wrecking his truck.
On another note, he will be over here doing some stuff, but at the same time, I'm not a teacher nor an instructor, just a solo body and paint guy.
Bill, here's a list of panels I'd like for you to gather, Gerson's or whoever:
inner and outer lower valance
a-pillars both sides, up to the lower hinge
Doglegs, both sides
inner and outer cargo rockers
Short outer rockers (if not included in the wheel well repair panel)
At least one treasure chest door, but two would be nice.
wheel well repair, left and right
Battery tray
right rear lower corner
Cargo floors are kind of a mess too, we'll have to take a look at those together and see which route you want to take on those. May need some lower panels for the gates too. Start hunting for parts to fix that rear axle too, gotta get that sorted before the wheel wells get worked. That's something that you and Aastin could come over and take care of.
Gonna get started on the roof this weekend. _________________ -Corey

i was driving it home going the speed limit and i went over the railroad tracks and when i did i guess i lost control of it and it hit the curb of the median and started to roll on its second roll i was flung out of the passenger door and the bus kept on rolling right over me for another 2 more rolls. |
Well call me a dick, but I think there should be a lesson learned if you loose control of your vehicle at the speed limit and roll it over simply by driving over the tracks. |

I learned an extremely valuable lesson when I flipped my '57 standard on it's lid.....ALWAYS PAY ATTENTION!
It's mind boggling how fast it happens! I was young, dumb, and full of...well, you know, when I decided to change CD's in my stereo deck. I swear I took my eyes off the road for 2 seconds before I found myself heading for the shoulder on Hwy 95 just south of Coeur d'Alene, ID. I ended up yanking the the wheel hard left, which in turn spun the ass of the bus around, and the momentum flipped the bus onto the passenger side, and then onto the roof. I slid for about 30 yards before it came to a halt. The bus was full of band gear, and as the dust settled, all I could hear were cymbals sliding across the highway....very surreal. _________________ Don't take life too serious....you won't get out of it alive! |
