Jason, I was thinking about your addiction to vintage canvas a few days ago when checking out a new eBay listing...included with this guy's Westy is the most unused, new looking side tent I'd ever seen. Check it out:

That bus is pretty sweet. It looks like an nos tent - never used! There is also this other one I saw in the gallery the other days too. Ill ask the owner to chime in on history.

And this VW tent seen in the gallery.

I just bought a shit tent with decent poles. Im waiting for it to arrive. I need the poles for another nice tent I have and am going to use the shit tent to make some cool Westfalia Jackets Its that jacked up - but with plenty of nice material to play with.
You brother can have have a bung grommet for the price of a six pack and shipping. Ill even cut the grey material wide enough around it so you can sew it into yours with plenty of meat to hook onto.
How does that sound? _________________

Hi guys, this Campa tent is mine.
Would love to give history about it or the company but I unfortunately I'm unable to. A workmate gave it to me the other day when he found out I got a Kombi. It's from his 90 year old neighbour who no longer has a Kombi due to being unable to drive anymore.
When I see my workmate next I'll ask him to see if his neighbour can give details about it. Like when it was purchased, price and where from.
When I put it up the other day I did not notice any tags of manufacturers or other description except the official looking blue and white Campa patch with the VW logo.
Next time I have it up I will go over it thoroughly to see if I can see any tags or stamps. _________________ My 71 Squareback (Sold!): http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=591450

I've got an old side tent just like the one above if anyone is in SoCal area and wants it for spare parts or whatever. I have never used it it, and never will. Came with my bay. Pretty old but looks to be complete.
Shout out if you want to pick it up and get it out of my garage for me. |

Much appreciated Notch.
Okay for anyone in the Denmark area looking for these rubber loop anchors or would like to help me out by shipping a few over to California I've located a source in Denmark. I emailed them, but with no answer.

I say leave it as it is. Make an honest detailed description showing the good and the bad. People ask for between $750 to $1100 for stupid nice one. But those do take the longest to sell if they even do.
I only know of one super nice one going for more than $800. The guy that bought it just finished a expensive restoration and wanted as close to new - and that tent was with tags on the bag and all.
Also the regular nice used ones seem to be creeping up in price as well from the typical $400 to now $600. But they hang around not selling as well. I think most real buyers will BUY in the $500 to $750 all day for a nice tent.
Post some pics here and good luck. _________________

Westfalia source but year unknown
Westfalia tent bag from June 1973 bus left and from later model tent with blue rubber ring base nail(peg) tabs. The 73 still has the metal base nail tabs. The later model tent also has a zippered screen window in bus side flap.

The fly came with the bus. It is homemade and I don't think it was made from a westy pattern.
I just jump through the jalousies on the left side tent and reassemble the pieces on the other side.
Looking for another tent, missing one
