Here are some new ones like I see all the time in Camper&Bus. They are not in the US as some of you wanted but maybe they have distributers here? If anything else it give you guys that want a modern one something to see for ideas.

Some of those new ones look a whole lot easier to set up! LOL

Here is mine! This was the first time setting it up next to the bus. I learned that it needs to be further back then I had it. I couldn't open the slider all the way.

Wasn't sure what I was supposed to do with that flap so I just hooked it the leg. Need to do some reading up on tent procedures. LOL

We have the westy side tent and it is all complete and roomy, however the new LIGHT tents from this day and age sure are attractive and will be much easier on the setup.

There is no comparison to the new tents. You roll with an old tent just because you like old tents. Plain and simple Laughing

The new ones pop themselves up! Weigh like....nothing. Im a glutton for punishment for sure. I roll with the old stuff. But I did just buy a Westfalia trailer to help carry the old bag. Wink

Or because they do not blow away in a wind, while set them up.....I hate setting up the newer ones, and it is almost always windy here. Laughing

I accept that! Laughing The exception is that you first have to put it up before you stake it.

Hey guys, love the thread. Found a bay tent on craigslist locally this weekend . Looking to use it with my 1966 SO42 and westy rack. Any of you guys know where I can buy a sectional tent rail? Also i heard that you could order the newer style tents in 66/67 as an option. Anyone else ever heard that? If anyone wants to sell a gutter rail please please let me know.

I just saw a tent for sale. It looks to be the regular circus tent. But this one had a hanging "closet" in it. Looks to be of the original material etc. Tent was supposedly used very little.
Anyone seen or heard of the hanging closet? If I can find the ad again I might post the picture of it.

I had seen that too but never before on any other tent. If thats a real item which it does look like - then I bet thats a cool and rare tent accessory/add on to have!

Is this a place to get poles or just a link to other cool tents?

I cannot tell the color or scale of that bag, but is it possible that it is one of the cloth bags that held the tent, the poles, or the other do-dads?

The ad had pictures of the pole bag, spike bag etc. It does state that it's a closet and I'm pretty sure it is.... Smile
I can see the zipper front and shelves inside and the strings it's hanging by.

I agree, I have two westy tents (one for each side of the Double door Wink ) but hauling them around can be a pain. I'm looking into a trailer for my westy so I can have one with me for the next camping trip Smile
