Nope, not going to make it I'm afraid, I really haven't been interested in going to German meets ever since Willi Lottermann died, quite a few of my VW friends in Germany are gone, passed away and I don't really know anyone in the new scene over there.

To me honestly Germany and the vintage scene there is not as inviting as it was in the 1980's and 90's.....

Have a good time there!

Tom

Hi All,

found a truly amazing standard that is up for sale in germany.
this is my car's twin Cool
look at the super condition this car is, the only thing i noticed that has been restored is the spare tire well section, older v bracket decklid and the rear flank (bolt is gone for rearfenders)
i believe/hope that behind the door panels is the original herringbone too Surprised

besides this the car has a realy cool history!!

this is the email from the guy who is selling this car: [email protected]

WoW!

This car from Markus is nutz!!!!! I just can't understand why people SELL cars like this, when they are so amazing? Smile

I haven't seen a Standard that complete since the early 1990's.

I wouldn't touch a thing on that car over than normal maintenance to keep the car roadworthy....the "patina" is to die for!!!!

Hi all,

we love metal work and we couldn't get the original decklid be left alone.
so we decided to bring her back to life. the underside of the decklid was destroyed by some idiot back in time.

Hi all,

decklid and front hood are in primer now. the next step will be wet sanding it until p1400, and then we consider it paint ready Cool
we also take care of the gas tank, it was so dirty inside that we have to clean it the rough way without damaging the tank ofcourse, we get ourself a concrete mill and we fixed the gastank to the mill put some cleaned gravel, screws etc inside with a lot of aceton and we let it turn for a couple of hours, we couldn't believe what a mess it was inside when we drained it all.
after this i called a company vosschemie who claimed that his g4 PU primer would seal/rust prevent the tank forever and also it is gasoline proofed, so we choose this product to go for

as far as we don't want a radio in the dashboard we found our self two picnic radios from the sixties Very Happy
both are in good working condition, however the schaub lorenz T50's sound is very quiet (sound is almost not noticeable) and doesn't seems to pick up a channel on KW
the blaupunkt derby works, good loud sound, but doesn't receive anything on the FM wavelength Confused
can someone help me with the problems from the two kofferradios?

be aware that good looking body supports can hide some crusty metal behind them!
we spotted off the supports from the inner fender, this took us a day for getting them both off, they are spots everywhere on this place Shocked
