|
|
Well .. Everything in it has been rumored here in Andebu where I live, about a bubble above the barn that would be of older vintage. Having been tipped off about this for 1 year ago but then I had apparently not hearing in my side, for this I had remembered guaranteed!
The same man told me here on Tuesday, again, and this time awakened all my senses .. After a little more info, it turns out that it is in the barn like about 600 meters from my house ..
Throw me into the car, retrieved the knob in kindergarten to then set course to the farm ..
Called in and was met by a 70 year old lady with specific and clear opinions! A very funny lady! I became a bit put out by her frankness, but I got da trunk forward having presented me ..
... "Eh, I hear rumors that you have an old bubble on your barn?" ...
... "Yeah! Standing here have been offered money for it before but it was WAY too small!" ...
... "I'm not interested in buying it, but I do bubble and bus and was curious. Is it possible to see?" ..
... "Of course!" ...
Must admit I did not quite know what I was going to, but then we went with a knob on the arm and hurried beeline up the barn .. The door opened and holy fuck! .. There stood an Oval!
... "Wow, that is an Oval" ... Is it from me and then it was done! In that moment, I had decided that this should I have!
After some small talk and thorough check of the car when we finally agreed on a price. A price we are both happy with.
The car I hope will be taken home during the week, for review of the brakes, oil change, and then see if it starts.
Has had two owners since it was new ..
I can not wait!
Some pics;
( I use google translate for some lines, I hope the translate is ok! ) |

I picked up the car yesterday!
Got help from a good buddy!
After some small talk with Mrs. Skaug we drove home
Two happy people
Once the car was in the yard at home I tossed the water hose and flush away the worst .. And believe it or not, looks like the paint is intact: D
Have not tried to start it even when I have not 6 volt battery "lying to fling" so fast it is spinning freely and one oil change is all I try
Whether says BANG or the murmur loving it |

New fuel and injector cleaner to loosen deposits possibly, a little nip ...
http://youtu.be/cz85yLjEqt4
It started! And it all works out .. Lights, wipers, but the arrows on, but I have to help the physically up but they go by themselves ..
Anybody can do this?
Also I have to set a little on the carburetor. Mounted a nut missing and must be lubricated all the moving parts .. Going a bit slow But however, it started!
Thanks for the loan of the battery Anders! |

Good for you. That oval looks about as pristine as one can find - heck, it looks like most cars AFTER they've been restored. Go through the car and enjoy your oval! |

This afternoon I swapped out the ratchet and hammer in the hands of the knobs with a sponge! Less risk of damage to paint
Joined blank! Polishing next .. I think ...
Have been out and run now. All features works, clutch is excellent throttle response is bright and surprisingly good draw to be 30 horses!
Well, before it is used any more should I replace brake lines and lubricating the brake parts and some miscellaneous ..
Also, I think a new ignition switch can be smart .. Then return spring is bad. |

Going to mount these rims which was actually thought of my Rag Top project.
They will fit nicely on a black car

The car is solid! Rot free and only 99.000 km since new. I had to look at it today. New battery, oils and a little TLC (+ tires), and its a nice driver. Need a bit of polishing, and a little rust on the chrome, but you dont have to do the hard work. Original engine. The last owner was an old man, and it look like the car was his hobby, but he got ill in 2003/04 and the car stand still after that.
PS Cheron: The car is build in february 56. _________________ I got a historic car, every scratch got a history...

Beautiful Barn find, I'd just clean and polish, do a preservation restoration only, replace bad rubbers/gaskets and go over the brakes, tires and fuel system.
Wash and polish with a really good carnuba wax and do nothing else to the paint, all original UN-RESTORED cars are very rare in 2012, finding an Oval in this nice a condition is real luck and also having one of the original owners alive is a blessing too, maybe they have more paperwork or original photos?
The original wheels look great........those Fuchs rims I think are a no no , you should keep this car 100% original, like the old man would have wanted it.
You have a really nice car there, I wouldn't ruin it's great looks with modern wheels and other mods that everyone else does, I'd be different and keep the car all original.

x2 - amazing that you found this car only 50 km from my house. Keep it stock and unrestored if possible. Just like the old man would do if he still drove it. _________________ 1973 1303S w sunroof Click to view image

Your lucky to have some older pictures from your car, wish I had some of mine, (the former owners familiy didn't find any photos) ........still my opinion is to keep your car all stock, that beautiful black paint will look great with the black/silver white OG wheels _________________ OG PAINT L331 1957 TYPE 1 OVAL WINDOW

Was out and went through all of the parts I got and that was when I could use a little
Got the brand new German bumper blade, still wrapped in plastic (unfortunately two rear bumper)
Red leather seats
Flowers Glass (missing mount bracket that must be attached to the car)
Roof rack (I'll probably not use)
Doors that are in the condition we call rust free
And lots of other small stuff
A couple of photos inside the car;
That was it, I better get out and wash more parts and car |
