Awesome car. What color was the piping of the original seat covers as well as the color of the vinyl portion of the door cards?

I can't quite tell the color. Is it gray or blue? Thanks!

Dark gray, maybe a little bluish? _________________ I got a historic car, every scratch got a history...

That L 41 black polished up looks so great!
What's the story with your running boards, did I miss a post or something?
I have to treat the inner bottoms of my front fenders, cuz there's aggressive surface rust collecting there, these "survivor" cars are constant upkeep if we are going to drive them, but they are so fun to drive.
I wish I could afford to do some seat covers to match the inside of my Kamei shelf......
Or maybe clear ones? I still can't make up my mind, I also don't want to cover up my seats for shows, so maybe I'll just stick to using my vintage 1950's blankets ~ I love the vintage German polkadotted cloth!
You have really lovely colored seats in your car too, but your seat covers are very kool!

No, not lost any post
I have taken off to replace rubber and chrome trim. Bought from Paruzzi and I am very impressed with the quality!
If you come across an extra Kamei shelf in these colors, let me know! I want like that shelf
I took the seat cover to protect the original seats. I look a little after a few other seats that I can use while I clean the original seats to preserve them.
PSST; Tom, you have a great car! I love it! |

Hehehehehheehee yes very kool thanks again
oohhh that Kamei shelf, from what some German collectors have told me it's like stupid rare, I NEVER have seen more than 2 in the past 25 years.....mine and one that had like Blue Scottish plaid material used on it.
I have ok running boards on my car, they do have some rust issues, but they are good enough to last, the passenger side chrome strip has a dent in it, but for the most part, I'm not touching the original chrome pieces, regardless of the dents, just replacing parts that are pitted/rusted ugly, like the right rear towel rack bar and the left rear bumper guard.
I'm still looking for decent hard chrome German hubcaps as well, ones that have slight patina but no dents are very hard to find....
I've got a car show tomorrow so I'll be out and about with Blauchen, look for more pix soon.
Happy Driving!

The original rubber on my running board was gone. So that it "will look better" I bought repro rubber |

You NEED to out the car back into the garage again for another 4 weeks! All that snow/wet is no good at all for all that original stuff.....I'm soooooo glad I live in Florida, we are already burning up here and it's not even May yet!

Today we had coffee hits. A 61 in the garage, two ovals, one bus and a Karman Giha went out in the rain!

Very nice car. I don't browse the oval forum much because it makes me crazy jealous.
If I ever win the lottery, I will buy a split or oval survivor to dump into the ocean so I can document it and watch the hater purists squirm.
Nice car. Nice stance. Period. |
