Help,
We are on vacation from Sydney, Australia travelling from Sacramento to San Francisco in a 69 West bus. Our master cylinder tank has sprung a leak. Brakes are working but we need a replacement. Does anyone know a place in SAn Francisco I might be able to get a new one from?
Looks like Wolfsburg West only sell the top reservoir bottle.
Thanks

Try this place, if your not already in SF as it's a bit south from there. (but not too far)
It's the last good place I went through when I was still down in the bay area.... |

Sorry to hear about your issues. The '69 lower reservoir is no longer made by anyone. Used ones come up in the classifieds here from time to time.
I had a great experience with Kombi Haus in Sacramento this morning; they carry some used parts.

Thanks guys, after a bit of searching It seems you can use the rubber bungs and outlet pipes from a bug along with a bug reservoir mounted behind the seat to get me out of trouble. I should be able to get one in San Fran. We are still in Davis at the moment haven't left for SF yet. All part of the adventure hey! _________________ ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

Call up bob skinner in Vacaville @ Vacaville auto body. He might have some parts. There are also two vw shops in Vallejo that you can call up. One is German car clinic can't remember the other. Laveres vw is in concord, they have parts. This is all way before SF. Hope it works out for you. _________________ 69 Westy |

I have those parts in my bus- if you had posted this yesterday I would have been in Sac ready to deliver them! I hope you find them...
Make sure the hose you get is brake fluid rated. Most hoses aren't, and will break down. The blue braided VW hose (7mm ID I think?) is the best, with metal pipe running through the chassis if you can. _________________ Learn how your vintage VW works. And why it doesn't!
