Finally able to replicate a factory style glove box.
my replica next to an original
I may felt the inside at a later date.
I have been hand forming the seat pads and that should be done soon.
Then I will be ready to make the patterns for the covers.

I recently had to let this go. They gave me a final date they would accept the door panels and other items from SMS and told me to cancel the headliner. I gave SMS the final date
I cancelled the headliner and gave them a final date the door panels would be accepted. He then shipped the headliner AFTER I told him not to.
After calling me unreasonable for only waiting a year and a half so far and after many promised delivery dates have come and gone they shipped them.
Well, front panels the welt is already pulling away in a couple of spots.
Rear panels did not have the clip holes to mount them to the body and the arch to clear the wheel well is not shaped correctly so they wont go into place. In addition he did not ship material he promised to finalize the contract. He said he saw no rush to ship it. I think you all have enough information to make your own decisions.
By the way it was close to 2k for the material, headliner and door panels.
I requested a complete refund and for them to have all materials picked up for return. I may be stuck with panels that are messed up and I cant use. He apparently thinks that a year and a half is quite reasonable as a wait time. I will file a claim tonight if he does not tender the refund. |

Within the next couple of weeks I hope to have the seals for the dash handle ready and I will make a few extra.
I hope to soon have information about a new source for the 58-60 door panels too.
Stay tuned. |

The nose is finished. What long journey for this metal molding rookie. The headlight buckets are back in and all the rust and ground through metal is gone.
Also welded in the rear over rider support brackets
Three fender sections to go and the metal work, as far as I know, should be done.
Then pull some dents, get slap hammer happy, and skim coat.
This thing may actually happen |
Where'd you get those over rider supports? _________________ -Jared

The over rider supports were selected from the originals and sections I purchased. Drilled out the spot welds and put back on once I had everything aligned. |

Not bad for a guy that never welded or formed a piece of metal before
I am trying to figure out how to make a sanding block so I can get a nice uniform nose ridge. |

Try a bar of modeling clay , Will comform to any shape . And for compound curved flat panels I use a piece of alum with a 3/8 thick piece of rubber glue'd to it . You can curve the alum to the shape of panel and will hold shape to block sand . _________________ Shipping is NOT included in any of my products or parts. filled the gap between the body and the motor firewall with a carpet jute padding which seems to be a little more dense than the original material.
I also put seam sealer inside and outside of every body seam I could get to.
Next is to spray the sound proofing in all of the original places |
