Looks great, I'll tell you what, those egg tail lights are a major PITA to install.

I recently did mine on my November 54, and I know why VW went to snowflakes...that chrome trim and 20 tabs are a pain to fit

I was cussing like crazy with those...especially because the damn tabs kept breaking off due to age

This is going to be a truly gorgeous car... and you restored a 3-Fold that most would never have tackled based on rust issues.. I applaud you!! Just wait til you drive it with that 3-Fold open... windows down.... My 3-Fold is by far my favorite car.

But 2 years? I can understand 2 Years if you are doing it yourself.. but when you are paying someone that's just terrible. It comes down to once they spend your money, they aren't that interested in working on your car anymore. (this guy has some god-awful samba feedback btw). The guy is obviously talented, but the timeline isn't going to win him any new clients.

Do what I once heard another customer do. On it's 2nd birthday of being in his shop... bring it a cake with candles.

Hoffman, I agree 100 percent! I waited 11 months for paint and body on my car (54 Sedan) and I was irritated as SHIT!

Fully torn down 54, every nut and bolt removed, all replacement metal delivered up front with the car, all paint and clear delivered with car... 11 months later, I get what looks like a rush job and the shop Forman's 2 cents about how much hard work they put in... Cry me a river.

I left the shell on rotisserie and these morons still forgot to paint underneath the heater channels...

I won't say the shops name, but at-least they did a nice job RECASTING MY 54 BATWING, they are pro's at that.

This is almost (yours is far nicer!) an identical copy of our 56 oval we've built here in the UK. Its reed green too.

Still not finished but not far away! Been painted for 6 years! owned for 12 years!

Thank you for your concerns and your praises (Cuba, bdub, DoubleDoor, Hoffman and everyone else following this post). I, too, had thought it would take Me 2 to 3 years to do by myself that's why I went in search of a shop to do it quicker and....well.....I Lost that "reasoning bet" with myself. It's close to being finished but I Really think I should have had it Last Year like was expected.

It's 2 year Birthday there was July 6 and Her name is "Sweet Pea"

Soon, very soon........

Those are NOT "Pop-out" 1/4 windows or do you mean the Semaphores ?? Those are aftermarket, 6v. All the rubber came from Wolfsburg West.
