Well, I am trying to narrow down a color for my bus. I am looking for the lower color on Rolando's Turbo Bus.
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

I have PMed him, no luck, tried his club, no luck. So now it's your turn.

Is it Ivory L567? Or, is it Dakota Beige L13a? Or is it Yukon Yellow (long shot)?

If you've got a vehicle that you know is either of these codes could you post pics, especially in some different lighting, to help me with my decision?

Thanks for your help, Gordo.

I don't think it's Ivory L567 (that colour is more washed out and won't give the effect you want).

FWIW, I don't think it's a VW colour at all. It looks more like a yellow, and it pops because of the black on top. I would take the pic to your painter and get him to mix up a batch.

Mix up a pint and spray a test panel. I do love that color you picked out!

I was really hoping that it was a VW color. I don't want to go to a color that is mixed just for me. I would rather stick to a factory color that way it has a set formula that can be resprayed again and again.
If I can't find what color that is I may end up going for a Prairie Beige L378

This color next to black should stand out and still have that Vintage look about it.

Prairie Beige would be a poor substitute for Rolando's color!

I agree with you there. Rolando's color for me is a hands down first choice. but, if it can't be then I would go for the L378 prairie beige because it has some antique quality about it that I find appealing.

Definitely Not Yukon Yellow, can't speak as to the other options though. I know what you mean about it having an antique quality...very classy. It looks to me like it has more green than the Prairie Beige

I have seen 5 different shots of that car and the color doesn't look the same twice....But I still like every version.

Rolando's bus though, I think it may not be a VW color. The closest I've found is a GM Gobi Beige or an MG Pale Primrose. Sad , because I want to stay with VW colors only.

Where do you spray a test patch to check the color?

I know this was started awhile ago, but some jobs are worth the wait.

I finally got the bus painted. and....yes it does take on different hues with different lighting. At the college where I had it painted, it is actually one of the colours that they use as a teaching point for that very reason.

I think it turned out well.

There are some future plans for the roof that will take it to the next level. But I've got to get it together and running first.
