As someone stated earlier, the position of the taillights is horrible... really throws off the look of the backend... should have put them where they belonged, in the stock location.

My favourite part of the episode was when they gave a shout to 'Volkswagon Group of America' (sic) in the end credits.

I no longer have TV at my house, so I had no idea there was another Foose VW build. I was not a fan of the bus build result, though I appreciated what he and the crew did for the recipient.

This build I find much more appealing, and the recipient seems to be very deserving of the help. About the only thing I see on that car that isn't quite right is the tail lights, as others have mentioned. Beautiful car otherwise, and I am not really into custom cars with shiny paint.

My favorite part of the episode was when it came to the end and it was time for AMERICAN CHOPPERS! I can't get enough of it since senior and junior patched up things and they're acting like they have respect for each other

Though difficult to tell from the semi-blurred screen captures, they are just snowflakes, not '55 eggs... thankfully. Wink

Probably, but I'm picking up things I missed on the show through the photos, but it appeared to be a trim piece & the lights smaller meaning eggs - but the close up photo of the engine it appears that it's a pinstripe. Cool effects irrespective of the location of the lights & if it is a pinstripe - nice detail.

the taillights were reproductions(that I had saved for a rainy day) as well, Chip massaged and finnessed them to fit the fender perfectly without seals. If I remember correctly, the screws on top that hold the housings to the brackets were eliminated also. I don't remember seeing holes made for the taillights, maybe they were already in the wrong spot.

Snowflakes have the trim as well but typically don't appear so prominently, it was just an effect of the angle (mostly on the left lens) that had me thinking it was the egg r/t snowflake since I couldn't actually make out the lens but it looked smaller - the engine close up pretty much makes it look like a snowflake - but still think is there a pinstripe or something going on? Again, it's just angles, lighting and whatnot that's puzzling me and very likely is just a buffed out trim piece - got me it doesn't look normal (not a bad thing).

Yep, I agree. Kinda like when Hulk Hogan turned into a "bad guy" on the WWF. Rolling Eyes Laughing

All in all, I think they did a great job on the car and for a deserving recipient. I really like the show and even more when someone get's their car fixed that deserves it.

The new blonde chick isn't bad to look at either.

I don't mind the tail light placement, I see where he was going with it and it looks good for what it is, it works with the rest of the look IMO. Hack?...absolutely, but well done by a guy with some real skills, more like art I think, not everyone appreciates some styles of art (I know I don't). The sad part is it'll inspire an entire new generation of hillbillies to break out the sawzall pop riveter chickenwire and bondo and "do it up real good just like that Fuchs guy" Razz

If that happens we will all be wishing we still had our old 80's cars back.

IMHO, needs bumpers. Bugs look better with bumpers. Gives it Orange Bug that finished look.

It had a boody kit with modified bumpers weird belt line at the bottom with wolfsburg crest, out of place nose badge, etc.
It was a real bummer because it was a really solid og daily driver sorta bus.
