I know you acknowledged this sickboy, but for those who didn't catch it, and there seem to be a lot of people who don't understand this issue... I have seen a bunch of nice full cage Bajas with bent beams from having the mounts too far inboard.

Dustymojave yea i definately agree a lot of things should be pointed out on here ive seen a ton of fundamental errors on some of the builds cause ppl simply dont kno its wrong and a few pointers can go a long way if listened to.

Thesataliteguy im using a jmr electrohydraulic bender it does pretty well and thanks all i can say is practice practice practice lol and iv had lots. The last month has been the biggest push but the new job is def slowin me down

Hey man, I just finally got to look through your build. What a nice baja!

I'm curious, did you do anything for your dash yet? If not, I've got a custom made dash and I can get you a picture of it. Maybe it would help you with your own ideas?

Any way, keep up the progress on this sick bug! Smile

well, I apologize for taking so long to get these up for you but here they are. If you want better pictures, I can get some. I took these pictures at a bad time of day.

I need to drill out that middle hole a little more for an additional switch. it was intended to be there, but for a different size switch.

i'm not sure, but I may have my template I used. If not, I may have given it to my VW mechanic.

Everything is looking great so far! Just out of curiosity, are you going to further brace the outside ends of the front beam?

Well its been almost 2 years since ive been on this forum but i know everybody likes closure on projects so i thought id give u all some. I still have the new job i took while building the car and unfortunately it killed the project for me and i had a kid (#2 is onown the way Smile )so the car went bye bye. But i just saw it on craigslist and the guy litteraly just bolted on my last parts plus a couple. Sellers remorse is killing me right now lol but here are some final pics of it "done"

It was a little bit more than just bolting on the parts that you had for it, you did do an excellent job though.. I put in another $2500 dollars maybe your memory is a little fried pretty hard bolting on engine cage, finishing the rear Of the cage and coilover mounts installing disc brakes, steering column, cross members in the front, installing fuel cell. the hardest part was bolting all the New wiring lol and countless other items, you are a great welder but your memory is a little fuzzy, by the way you can buy it!
PS I talked to your buddy that got the Jeep heard the thing blew up sorry about that I'm not being sarcastic that sucks
oh yeah and don't call me guy
